home sweet home
we're all moved in, and although the place is a mess with no furniture to sit on, it's still home sweet home. i can't wait to finish unpacking, mostly done the kitchen already and edward's office coz he needs to work from it, but the rest of the rooms are woefully empty with cardboard boxes waiting to be opened. lucky we weren't dumb enough to pack the scissors and box cutters (been there, done that, was not fun!)...
the bed we ordered arrives next week so in the meantime we're camping on a mattress straight on the floor... yeah, tacky i know (hey, at least it's not a sleeping bag!)... next order of business, buy a couch and dining table! there's a million things to buy coz we're literally starting from scratch (goodbye college furniture!) - and we want to get decent stuff this time. so, it's going to be a patient wait: each worthy piece at a time.
getting moved in was quite an ordeal - it poured rain all day, and we had to deal with an inept cable technician who didn't know where his cable box was... and 2 extremely ditzy movers with a penchant for getting distracted by all the hot blondes living in my building. they kept doing double takes and got quite excited by all the scenery... and i'm not talking about still objects. edward said there were quite a few immaculately trendy chicks so i guess the movers weren't the only ones gawking, haha. i spied a few of them, didn't see what all the fuss was about but i suppose there's quite an unusual trend when you keep seeing snooty blondes decked out in gucci every time you come off the elevator - guess we have some pretty skanky, err i mean swanky neighbors.
all in, it wasn't such a bad day, but i'm just glad it's over now. when are we going shopping next?
