fall colors!
these pics don't do it justice, but we were in the Algonquin Park area last weekend. (big nature reserve, abt 3 hours north of Toronto) amazing fall colors and wonderful weather made for a perfect weekend getaway. the trip was actually for our friend m*'s ranch for a dinner party and campfire (my, how long has it been since i've been to a campfire!) brings me back to younger, slimmer days... LOL.
m* lives in beautiful Muskoka countryside, one of the prettiest spots in Ontario. people from all over come to Algonquin Park just to see the fall colors, i think virtually my whole office made a trip there over the course of Sept/Oct. this was prime weekend though, it seemed like we went at the perfect time, the maples were all turned and blazing red... drove through miles and miles of reds and golds (which sadly we didn't stop to photo). was driving too fast, hehe - blame it on the zippy new car.
lots of (other) people stopped along the road, we spotted many avid photographers (whole clubs of them out to get the perfect shot) and loads of crazed asian tourists. seems like the place was overrun with young college students (first time in Canada?) and geeky asian tourists. quite surreal.
anyways, some pics of the country... these don't show the 95% color that was evident throughout our drive, dunno why - although i suppose we just happened to snap random pics wherever there were less people/cars/restrooms. which also means less scenic colors, haha. goes to show, these asian tourits know their stuff.
